CELLOPERA

Avec son nouveau disque Cellopera, Ophélie Gaillard nous invite à l’Opéra. La violoncelliste lève le rideau sur ses premières amours et explore les passions humaines à travers la voix du violoncelle, le plus humain des instruments. 
Son tempérament passionné et son goût pour les nouvelles aventures la menent constamment sur les chemins de traverse les plus fertiles. Elle nous entraîne à la découverte d’un incroyable programme qui s’étend sur plus d’un siècle et demi d’opéra, grâce à un ensemble de transcriptions pour violoncelle et orchestre.  
Ophélie Gaillard a choisi pour ce disque des airs dans lesquels le violoncelle a déjà un rôle soliste (quatuor de violoncelles de Tosca, solos du Bal Masqué et de Don Carlo, ouverture de Guillaume Tell introduite par le pupitre de violoncelles…). Frédéric Chaslin enrichit ainsi le répertoire pour violoncelle de transcriptions inédites, de paraphrases et interroge la tradition d’un Franz Liszt au piano revisitant les grands airs d’opéra.
Mozart, le bel canto romantique avec Rossini, Bellini ou Donizetti, le grand opéra de Verdi, le vérisme de Puccini, le dramatisme Wagnérien sans oublier le romantisme lyrique slave de Tchaïkovski ou les airs au charme entêtant d’Offenbach : Ophélie Gaillard convoque une galerie d’illustres personnages incarnés par son violoncelle, un Gofriller 1737 d’exception généreusement prêté par le CIC. La brillante interprète franco-helvétique et son compagnon à quatre cordes interrogent ainsi les émotions physiques que procurent une voix et ses vibrations, guidée dans ses recherches par une fréquentation assidue et de fructueuses collaborations avec les plus brillantes voix de la scène internationale.
Une entreprise passionnée qu’Ophélie Gaillard mène avec virtuosité et  élégance avec la complicité de Frederic Chaslin et du Morphing Chamber Orchestra de Vienne.
