20/21 !

Our programme, in this very unusual year 2020, departs significantly from what was originally announced on our website.

The lockdown – a moment of interruption, of being stopped in mid-flight – was indeed difficult, but it nevertheless enabled us to take the time to reflect, to rethink our lives, redefine our aspirations, give new meaning to our projects. As a result, the future, our dreams and their realisation were going to be radically transformed.

Our planet?

I have been travelling all over the world with my cello for thirty years now, performing on all the great stages as a soloist, a chamber musician, and with my ensemble Pulcinella.

But my artistic practice and the way of life it implies come at a cost for our planet, and it is my duty to orientate my projects in order to be in tune with an eco-responsible attitude that has become a major preoccupation, a vital issue for me, especially since I became a mother. This awareness shows not only in my artistic projects, in a choice of themes related to nature, but also in a constant commitment to resolutions, often of a very practical nature.

The Web?

Wishing to maintain the bond with Internet users that we established on the social networks during lockdown, I will continue to share on the web videos, photos, thoughts and observations, via a new dedicated YouTube channel – with the sincere hope that these exchanges will be of benefit to all.

Solidarity?

While being citizens of the world, we are also strongly committed to the Paris region (Île-de-France): for twelve years now Pulcinella and I have been strengthening our educational and social actions, and increasing our initiatives in schools, as well as in hospitals and prisons, where people are unable to travel to get to concerts. We thus give ourselves the means to live daily by our creed: to use our passion for music and art to make them into a common good, indispensable to all.

In July this year, as part of the OuVERTures Festival, we presented, in gardens and squares in Paris, La Courneuve, Montreuil and elsewhere, a participative show designed to appeal to all ages, entitled “Songes” (Dreams): a duo for dancer and cello, with the choreographer Ingrid Estarque. Audience participation makes the show different every time.

It’s great to be back on stage!

On 8 September at the Laon Festival, we were back on stage (at last!) with the first concert presenting Pulcinella’s recent Vivaldi album, I colori dell’ombra, released at the beginning of lockdown.

After Maguelone, Souvigny and Geneva, now, throughout the month of October, we are on stage at the Paris Opera House – Opéra Garnier – with the danseur étoile Hugo Marchand.

Keep up to date with the news on this site (there may still be changes).

And do come to our concerts!

Stay safe, wear your mask, and keep well!
